UPF Honored the Health Front liners by Ambassador for Peace Award

Today, Universal Peace Federation (UPF) organized a special program to honor representative health workers who have been risking their lives to save others from Covid-19 pandemic. Fourteen front liners including eleven front line doctors, State Minister, Hon. Ram Bir Manandhar and two journalists, among health workers, Dr. Sagar Rajbhandari, Prof. Dr. Subash Acharya, Dr. Santa Kumar Das, DSP Dr. Roshan Kumar Jha, Dr. Anup Bastola, DSP Dr. Saurav Shrestha, Dr. Runa Jha,  Dr. Sher Bahadur Pun,  Dr. Bipin Nepal, Dr. Raksha Pandey, Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, and from Journalist, Chief Sub-Editor of Kantipur, Mr. Atul Mishra and senior journalist of Nagarik Daily, Mr. Shree Ram Subedi were honored by the prestigious award: Ambassador for Peace. Ambassadors for Peace is the largest and most diverse network of peace leaders around the world. It is a title presented by Universal Peace Federation to individuals as recognition of their peacemaking merits. This title entrusts the mission to serve humankind for the sake of universal well-being. The award ceremony was held at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Kathmandu.

Chief Guest, Rt. Hon. Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, chairman of national assembly of Nepal Congratulating the awardees appreciated the noble endeavor of UPF awarding the health front liners. He further remembered the contribution of entire health workers during Covid -19, pandemic. Special guest Sujata Koirala, former Deputy Prime Minister & Member of Parliament opined that with the limited sources health workers had shown their best performance during the pandemic. Nation also has to appreciate and honor those front liners who have risked their lives during the Pandemic. Chairman of award ceremony, Former Minister, chairman of UPF/ IAPP Asia Pacific, Hon. Ek Nath Dhakal briefed the entire global activities of UPF. He further highlighted the sacrifices of health workers and inspired them the role health workers have played as a visible God during pandemic. Former Indian ambassador to Nepal K.V. Rajan speaking through a video message, congratulated all the awardees and thanked UPF for remembering the nation’s health worker.

Speaking from the awardee, Dr. Sagar Raj Bhandari has appreciated the work of UPF, and shared his testimony during the pandemic. How health workers went through the chaotic time to serve the public. Famous singer Miss. Sadeeksha Kattel performed a congratulatory song. The program was attended by significant numbers of current and former members of parliament and academicians. International representative of UPF from Philippines Mr. Richell Jalipa gave the welcome remarks during the program. The program was moderated by director of UPF South Asia, Mr. Santos Kumar Poudel.
