International Association of Youth and Students for peace- South Asia, has organized IAYSP South Asia Synergy program, which was held virtually on 21st December 2021. The Prize distribution ceremony was held recently in Kathmandu at Peace Embassy Building Naxal. Renisha Ghimire from Biratnagar, a law student awarded first prize with NPR. 24000 and Certificate, FFWPU- South Asia Director, Mr. Santosh Kumar Poudel awarded the awardee. The competition was held virtually including seven nations of South Asia through the zoom program.
The competitors had presented their project plan for competition addressing UN’s 17 SDGs. Participants were selected to represent from prior S!nergy program 2 from Nepal 2 from India & 1 competitor from Bhutan. Each competitor presented their distinct project plan with a special SDGs project on the theme of ‘Youth Action in Peace and Sustainable development.’ The first, grand winner won 1st prize from Nepal law student, Ms. Renisha Ghimire, second from Sikkim, India Ms. Sringeswori Waiba, Dr. Sadichhya Shrestha Nepal put mental health supporting project plan. Sangay Rabten Bhutan addressed all SDGs project important role in our daily life for peace and sustainability. Mr. Rupsingh Bhandari President of IAYSP-South Asia, chaired the program and Vice president Birendra Shrestha presented an introductory presentation of IAYSP. In the program, special Guest, Dr. Tang Kimsruy from Cambodia, Poet. Er. Santosh Ku. Pokhrel, Nepal, Mr. Jason Ibo from the Philippines, Yuma Sirimalai from Thailand and distinguished representative guests from South Asia addressed the program.
A special jury including Prof. Dr. Parmod Mehra from National Indira Gandhi Open University of India, Dr. Bhawana Pokhrel from PN Campus and Rupsingh Bhandari from Nepal served as judges of the program. The program was moderated by Paru Timalsina program Co-coordinator of Sagarmatha TV Nepal. In the Program, IAYSP South Asia, Secretary-General as well Nepal Chapter President, Dharmee Bhusal Kamana has shared the norms of program. IAYSP S!nergy South Asia was broadcast live on several YouTube channels together with IAYSP Thailand.
